Entry Criteria

Players must be registered with a participant ticket for epic.SIXTEEN to take part in this tournament. Registration will close at 8pm Thursday 1st October for teams. Players must be signed up for the tournament to participate; an event ticket alone does not guarantee tournament entry.

A briefing will take place at 10:30 am on Friday morning with all the Team Captains/Managers beside the event bar and admin desks, which must be attended.

At least one member of the team must remain in the internal tournament IRC channel throughout the tournament times.

Tournament Format

Pending number of entires, the intention will be to hold a Round Robin group stage followed by a Double Elimination knockout stage. Final details will be made available as more teams confirm their attendance. Teams will be asked to submit their TMM profiles (if available) to help with seeding.

Draws

Draws will be settled using tiebreaker matches where time allows. If no time is available, the head-to-head match history will be used to break the tie. If the match scores are even, average GPMs for each team across the tournament will be compared.

Match Format

The winning team of a coin toss will decide whether to choose side or first/second pick. The opposing team chooses the other boon.

In Bo3 matches, the loser of the first coin toss will choose side or first/second pick, and the winner will take second choice. For the third match, there will be another coin toss.

Voice Communication

Either in-game or externally provided voice communications are permitted, such as Skype, Ventrilo, TeamSpeak or Mumble. Note that epic.LAN may not be able to provide these dedicated voice comms resources for all of those listed due to licensing restrictions, clans should be prepared to make their own voice communications arrangements. Where possible, please use the internal LAN servers.

Schedule

All competitors must be present at the tournament area and in the game lobby 15 minutes prior to their scheduled match.

In-game penalties, in the form of decreased draft bonus time, will be used if teams are late for their matches without valid reason. If a team is more than 15 minutes late for a match without reason, admins reserve the right to default the missing team.

Server Crash

In the case of a server crash, the game can be continued from the latest save. The person who hosted the lobby for the match will have the option (game setup option) to load from a save file when they host again. The save file is generated every minute in the background.

In the unlikely event that the reload does not work, the game will be completely remade with a new draft.

Passwords

Passwords for each game will be given to both team’s captains 15 minutes before each match. Lobbies, where possible, will be hosted by tournament admins. Should they be otherwise engagesd, the correct setting for games will be discussed in the tournament briefing.

General Rules

Backdooring is allowed.

Any cheats, hacks or exploits are illegal and not allowed in play.

No spectators will be allowed in the game lobby, apart from tournament admins and approved casters.

If any heroes are released within a week of the tournament, the admins may decide to ban them from the tournament. This will be announced during the tournament briefing.

DotA2 Lounge Featured Matches

Players participating in the tournaments are forbidden from betting against their own team. If a player is found to be doing so, then they will be disqualified from the tournament, any prize winnings will be forfeit for the entire team, and a 1 year ban from all epic.LAN Tournaments whether online or at LAN events will be sanctioned to the entire team.

All of these punishments can be ruled if a team is found to be drunk or under the influence of drugs which impeded their ability of playing with integrity and fairness for both sides involved. We expect teams to act in a professional manner when playing these games to an audience of thousands.

DotA2 Valve Related Bans

Any player who has been specifically banned under fair play regulations by Valve will not be allowed entry into any DotA2 related tournament that epic.LAN runs, this is at any level of the game, and online or offline events run by epic.LAN.

Cancellation of Tournament

epic gaming Ltd. reserves the right to withdraw this tournament should there be an insufficient number of participating teams.
